Aerial Photography
Aerial photography is the art of taking pictures from the air by means of airplanes, helicopters, satellites, balloons or rockets. Aerial photography was originated during World War I, when photographers were commissioned to take pictures from planes.
The most prevalent function for aerial photography is for the purpose of cartography. Cartography is the study of the surveying of land for environmental observation and research purposes. However, aerial photography is now a popular form of photography among people who are in the real estate market, the movie-making business, and just regular families looking for a picture to capture the essence of their home and land.
An aerial photographer will need an array of equipment that may not be normally utilized by other standard photographers.
